The detailed breakdown
Every major agency management system is rolling out AI features, with most shipping by the end of 2026. Here is what is coming to Applied Epic, Vertafore AMS360, HawkSoft, EZLynx, and Momentum AMP.
Commission reconciliation
Reconciling direct-bill statements is one of the most manual jobs in the agency. That is being automated across every major AMS.
- Applied Epic shipped Applied Recon in October 2025. Ingests PDFs, CSVs, XLS, and AL3 statements via Ivans. 140+ agencies live. Early adopters report 8+ hours saved per week.
- Vertafore AMS360 is shipping a Reconciliation Agent in spring 2026 as part of Velocity AI.
- Comulate, a $20M-funded startup, plugs directly into Applied Epic. Reconciled billions of dollars across Lockton, Risk Strategies, and World Insurance. Reports 350,000+ hours saved.
Submissions and document extraction
The new business and renewal submission process is being automated. Reading carrier PDFs, ACORD forms, dec pages, and loss runs, then keying data into the AMS, is moving off your team's plate.
- Applied Epic acquired Cytora in September 2025 to power this. Cytora now runs Epic AutoFill and Epic Submissions Manager.
- Vertafore is shipping a Submission Processing Agent in summer 2026, with submission processing time expected to drop from one hour to two minutes.
- HawkSoft partnered with SALT in December 2025 for intake and data structuring.
- Roots Automation (raised $22.2M) does the same across multiple AMSs, with case studies citing 99% extraction accuracy.
30 to 50 percent of submissions never get quoted because nobody has time to process them.
Renewal flagging and policy checking
AMSs will flag which policies are at risk before the renewal date hits.
- Applied Epic shipped Personal Lines Renewal Insights at Applied Net 2025. Auto-generated Activity Notes and client PDFs at renewal.
- Quandri ($12M Series A) runs renewal intelligence on Epic, AMS360, and HawkSoft. Flags premium changes, coverage gaps, missing data, and mono-line clients. Revenue 15x since 2023.
- HawkSoft integrated Quandri in April 2026. Also partnered with Exdion for policy checking and Cara for coverage comparisons.
Personal lines is shipping first. Commercial follows.
Natural-language search across your book
Plain-English queries are replacing reports.
- Applied Epic shipped Epic Max, natural-language Q&A and search across the entire database.
- Vertafore launched the Insurance Expert Agent in ReferenceConnect AI as part of Velocity.
- Momentum AMP (formerly NowCerts) built a native Data Discovery agent.
A query like “show me all commercial accounts with a renewal in the next 60 days, no umbrella, and a paid claim in the last 18 months” becomes a sentence instead of a custom report.
Email and communication
Inbound email drafting, summarization, and routing is coming native to every AMS.
- Applied Epic shipped Epic Bridge, an Outlook integration that summarizes emails into Activity Notes.
- EZLynx (also Applied) launched EVA in January 2025. Account summaries, AI email drafting, and after-hours text replies.
- Vertafore AMS360 is shipping an Email Agent in summer 2026.
- HawkSoft partnered with Liberate in November 2025 for voice AI handling service, quoting, and routing.
Cross-sell and account rounding
AMSs are starting to surface cross-sell opportunities from the existing book.
- Applied Epic shipped Applied Book Builder, AI cross-sell and upsell intelligence pulling from internal account data enriched with public sources.
- Quandri flags mono-line clients, low limits, and missing coverages on Epic, AMS360, and HawkSoft.
Clients with three or more policies retain at 94 percent annually. Single-policy clients retain at 67 percent.
Carrier connectivity
Ivans (Applied-owned) is becoming an AI layer on top of carrier connectivity, not just a data pipe.
- Ivans Insights and Benchmarks rolled out in October 2025. Aggregated bound-policy premium data across geographies and coverages.
- Ivans Distribution Platform added Commercial Auto with smart auto-fill.
- Cytora's LLM stack is being integrated into carrier workflows.
Most agencies submit business through Ivans, which means these changes apply by default.
